Chassis design, layout, and flex have significant influence on the handling of the X1. The 2.5mm chassis made from harder graphite material was developed for very-high traction conditions, or when using tires that offer a lot of steering which makes the car more difficult to drive. This chassis makes the car more stable and easier to drive, and eliminates oversteering.

The super-narrow chassis front allows for maximum traction while having excellent steering and cornering speed. The chassis has ideal torsional stability to help eliminate the “scrub effect” in high-speed corners.

Redesigned slipper clutch set allows the rear shock absorbers to be mounted frontwards. Frontward mounting position increases stability on surfaces where the rear of the car collapses, particularly in high-speed corners. Team drivers also prefer this position on low-grip tracks.

Power from the motor is transferred to the drivetrain via an externally-adjustable central slipper clutch for quick & easy tuning. The 2-pad slipper clutch ensures super-smooth clutch operation and efficient, consistent braking. It is very easy to make ultra-fine adjustments to the slipper clutch externally.

The slipper clutch pads are made from ultra-efficient SLS material with very-high slip efficiency, thus allowing very precise slip adjustment.

The lightweight slipper plates are machined from premium Swiss 7075 T6, additionally hardened before a final black surface treatment.

The plates have a machined relief which decreases the friction surface to assist with clutch slip adjustment. With this plate design, pressure is focused on the circumference of the clutch pads for increased efficiency.

PROTOform is proud to release our first wing set for 1:10 Formula 1 cars, one of the fastest growing segments of on-road RC racing.

There were three main ingredients the team at PROTOform took into consideration when designing these wings: 1) look awesome, 2) be durable and 3) perform excellently on the track.

Starting with the aesthetics, the wings come with a sleek matte finish in your choice of white or black colors. Inspired by real F1 wing styling, this wing will give your 1:10 Formula 1 car an unmistakable look on the track. The rear wing is a true multi-element design featuring slots in the side dams, just like the 1:1 cars. The middle element features an emblazoned PF icon. Rear downforce can be tuned by removing either of the upper elements, creating a “Monza-style” setup for high speed tracks. There are also three different mounting positions on the plate to adjust the height of the wing if your chassis does not have this feature. Introducing our next-generation front wing for your 1:10 F1 car, designed for versatility, drivability and unmistakable style.

The V2 F1 Front Wing features 3-way adjustability to suit any condition your track throws at you: a low-downforce option, a medium downforce with 1-element add-on winglet, or a high-downforce, 2-element add-on winglet for maximum steering feel. The tall wing endplates enhance straight-line stability and side-bite in long sweepers. Inspired by popular American open-wheel cars from the late 90s, we also incorporated additional ground clearance at the outer extremities, especially important on U.S. style high-grip carpet. A wide, flat section in the middle of the wing provides a perfect mating surface for any F1 body.

The Diff Check has been developed in order to satisfy drivers needs providing them a device that is able to give a value to the diff hardness during race and test stage.

 

Diff Check provides data to the drivers that allows them to evaluate or replicate a certain hardness. It won’t be risky anymore to refresh the diff oil to avoid the fear of replicate the same hardness. From now, drivers will have a record that will allow them to have consistency or choose a softer or harder diff. Diff Check is useful for all categories and scales that use oil diffs.

It can be used with the assembled car!

Thanks to two handful accessories the Diff Chec is able to be used with the assembled car. The Diff Check it could be used on every models that have a diff!

1/10 - The first solution is more versatile and it is for all the categories that fix the wheel with a 7mm nuts. Such as Touring 1/10 electric and nitro, electric off-road 1/10 2WD and 4WD and Formula 1/10. This solution is perfect for Awesomatix model where the diff doesn’t allow the direct link to the Diff Check.

1/8 - The other solution is for all the model with a 17mm nuts that fix the wheel. Such as the electric and nitro 1/8 Buggy.

Regarding the practical side, the Diff Check is ready to be used with a pack of 7.4V batteries that allows max versatility.

How it works:

Place the diff on the Diff Check and press the power button. Diff check will provide a value for each diff tested on the device. The reading of this value will help to evaluate if the diff has been assembled correctly or the difference between the various oils viscosity. The diff/oil temperature may alter the Diff Check value.

Tips:

Each Diff Check has its internal resistance, therefore is advisable to always use the same device when the data are compared. Each diff could have its own resistance due to the silicon o-ring or its tightness. Therefore the oil viscosity may not be the only factor if the data are variables. The Diff Check allows to fully understand diff hardness before assembling it to the car.

Redesigned aluminum chassis to accommodate the new front chassis brace. The front brace – which can be easily installed on the chassis with two screws – eliminates side flex at the front of the chassis, improving steering response and making the car more predictable.
